Walaytianwali Mari is located in Mohalla Ali Bhatta, on the road Chakwala Darwaza – Bus Stop, Bhera. On the building, it is mentioned “M. Imamud Din, S. A. Suptd ( 1933)”. Imamudin was the eldest son of Muhammad Bukhsh, a master wood carver from Mohalla Mehmarawala, who went to England in 1885 for woodwork at Darbar Hall, Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. For more details and pictures, see Wikipedia.
There is an identical building, opposite Walyatianwali Mahri, on the other side of the road, which belonged to the younger brother of Imadud Din ( only a slight difference in the shape of the windows). In Bhara, the family was known as “Walaytian “.
