Temples of Bhera. 500 hundred years old Jain temple in Mohalla Pir Azam Shah, Bhera, district Sargodha

Five hundred-year-old Jain temple exists in Mohalla Pir Azam Shah, Bhera. Pir Azam is a medium-sized mohalla: in the north of it is Circular Road, in the west mohalla Pirachgan, in the south mohallas, Barud Sazan and Kachawara, and in the east mohalla Dehbaywala.

Temple has been encroached on from all sides. It isn’t easy to even approach it. Over some time, it has been eroded, deteriorated, and faded. At present, it is in pretty bad shape. The Municipal Committee, Bhera, has a complete record of its area. It is one of the historical sites of Bhera and must be preserved at all costs. With efforts could be developed into an attractive site for tourists visiting Bhera. Punjab Archaeology Department must take proper measures to conserve and restore this 500-year-old Jain temple. Municipal Committee to immediately remove the unauthorised encroachments, clean the area, and mark the route to the temple.
