The mosque is situated in the mohalla of the same name. It is one of the monumental mosques of Bhera. It may be called Uchchi Masjid, being built on a higher plinth. The mosque also dominates the skyline. It seems to have been built during the Shah Jahan period. There are two octagonal bastions in the northeastern and southeastern corners of the mosque. A flight of steps from the southeastern side of the east wall rises to a platform, from where access is gained to the courtyard of the mosque. The mosque has a three-bay-wide prayer chamber. The central one is bigger than the two on either side. These are surmounted by domes. The central dome is also bigger and higher than the two on either side. The mosque is smaller in size, but being built on a higher plinth is impressive. Sheikhanwali Masjid has been repaired /renovated several times, but its basic structure is the same. Being in the close-ended mohalla, not many people visit it. From the roof of the mosque, there is an all-round observation of the town. On a clear day, the Salt Range and lights of Khewra town are visible. Recommended to be preserved as the historical monument of Bhera by the concerned authorities. Few pictures of the mosque taken at different times are shared. Zahid Mumtaz
