Bhera’s Cultural Legacy : Fresco Paintings by Enaya Mumtaz . See on the website ,bhera .org , under the category,  Arts & Crafts of Bhera .

The fresco painting art in Bhera has completely vanished. Before Independence  , some houses ,  mosques, and temples had fresco paintings. Remnants of these in faded form still exist in some homes but are unknown to many.

If anyone has a fresco painting in his house, please share a clear picture of it with your name and mohalla ( on Whatsapp No 0317 5494161). The picture will be uploaded to the website, bhera.org, and the link will be provided. Let’s preserve the art of fresco paintings and the cultural heritage of Bhera, even in the form of pictures, for future generations.

A few years ago, the Sher Shah Suri Jama Madjid ( 1540 AD ), Bhera, was renovated. The mosque’s centre big dome and front entrance were repainted with frescoes, but they are no match to the original paintings. Let’s see what happens to these after a few years.

Some pictures of fresco paintings of Bhera are shared below.

*Note :* Fresco painting is a mural painting technique that uses water-based paint on wet plaster. The paint becomes part of the plaster, resulting in vibrant colours that sink into the wall. Islamic frescoes often combine written Arabic calligraphy with decorative beauty. Fresco painting is a difficult technique to learn and master ( for details see Wikipedia).
