Heritage Preserved: An old house renovated with love in Mohalla Sahniawala, Bhera
An old house in Mohalla Sahniawala has been beautifully renovated, maintaining its original charm. Kudos to Mr Nadeem Taqi for his efforts to conserve Bhera’s architectural heritage.
Nadeem has renovated his grandfather’s in Mohalla Sahniawala ( close to Sawi Masjid ). He has a genuine affiliation with this house. They are a Kashmiri family, Shah Mughals by cast. The house was purchased by his grandfather, circa 1890 ( the year of purchase will be confirmed from the original property documents ).
Nadeed’s grandfather, Mirza Kudha Buksh. was a doctor by profession in the British Army. His father, Muhammad Taqi, passed Matric from Government Bhera High School around 1924 ( the exact year will be confirmed from the original certificate ). His father was a position holder, so his name was on the school’s honour board ( I hope the school has preserved the old honour boards of the students). Mirza Muhammad Taqi was in the Civil Services of Pakistan. In 1948, he was in the Intelligence Bureau.
Nadeem Taqi has been in the legal profession, working with FBR since 2004 in Karachi. A few pictures of the renovated house are shared.
