Banyan Tree. Bhera, district Sargodha
Once an eye-catching old banyan tree, a small temple and a well , next to Chirri* *Chog Darwaza ( Qabli Gate -1865 ) existed in Bhera . Now, these have completely vanished. Hardly the remnants are left. There used to be a _Sarai_ close to the banyan , where Hindus brought their deceased for the rituals before taking the dead to Shamshan ( Samshan) Ghat for cremation, via Kararianwali Road, and finally disposing of ashes in the River Jhelum.
