Miscellaneous Articles with pictures. Tandoories of Bhera.

Most of the mohallas of Bhera had tandoories in the past , managed by elderly females . Women and children brought their kneaded dough ( gondha whoa aata) to tandoories for baking the roties. Charges were either one piasa ( 64 in a rupee ) or dough equivalent to one roti .

Tandoori was a meeting place for the women for a brief period , sort of a social get-together as they waited for their roties to be baked . They exchanged pleasantries , family news and discussed their issues . Now, hardly such tandoories are left in the mohallas of Bhera. Times have changed !

ادا کرتے تھے
