The first-ever photo exhibition and competition of pictures of Bhera was held on 3 September 2023 at the Government Technical Training Institute (GTTI), Bhera. Assistant Commissioner, Bhera, Mr Hakim Khan organised the exhibition. A professional photographer from Bhera, Hafiz Irfan Ali ( fondly known as Mani in Bhera ), managed the event efficiently. A few professionals and a large number of amateur photographers outside Bhera participated in the event. About 80 pictures were short-listed for the exhibition. Old photographs of Zahid Mumtaz and photographer, Mani were displayed but were not part of the competition.
The exhibition was inaugurated by AC Bhera, Mr Hakim Khan. He highly appreciated the efforts of all the participants in highlighting the history and cultural heritage of Bhera through pictures. Cash awards of Rs 50,000/-, Rs 25,000/- and Rs 10,000/-were given respectively to the first, second and third position holders in the completion. Certificates were given to all the position holders. Citizens of Bhera, including students of various schools, witnessed the exhibition. On the request, the AC Bhera extended the exhibition for three days. The local press covered the event well. They proposed to AC Bhera that such an event should be held annually in Mar /Apr or Oct /Nov.
